Where To Launch Your Model Rockets?

Are you looking for a place to launch your rockets? Join the club... "literally." The best place to launch your rockets is at the location where there is a local rocketry club that is also flying rockets. They've already scouted the available land, and have made the necessary deals with the property owners to launch there. Because of this, you be launching sooner than if you had to find your own place to launch.

Where Can I Find A Local Club?

We have started the process of locating the various clubs (both low-power and HPR rockets) around the globe so that you can find a place to launch rockets near you. As of July, 2007, we've located over 125 launch sites, and we'll be adding more as people send us information about their own clubs.

This database is in Google-Earth format. Just download it from the link below, and drag it onto the free Google-Earth software.

Step 1: Download and install the Google-Earth software. http://earth.google.com/

Step 2: Download our database file (KML format), and save it to your desktop. This file last updated: 8/16/07

Step 3: Start the Google-Earth software. Drag the KML database file onto the running application. Turn on the check-box next to the launch site folder in the places section on the left side of the window.

Step 4: Rotate the globe and zoom in on your location. Find the club sites nearest you, and click on them.

Step 5: Visit the web site of that local club to get launch times and other important information! Do not use the launch site without asking permission first.

Can't find a club in the database that is close to you?
Unfortunately, this database is not totally complete. The world is a big place, and we haven't had time to dig through the internet to find all the clubs. Plus, it is constantly changing because new clubs are being formed all the time. Don't fret though. Here are some links that can help you find a local rocketry club near you:

Can You Help Expand This Database With Your Club's Launch Site?

We'd love to include your club's information into this free world-wide database! Your club will see more flyers at launches, because this directory will be sending a lot more modelers to your club's site. That has to be great for your club, wouldn't you say so?

And sending the information to us is easy. But it needs to be in a specific format. Most club web sites are hard to navigate, so it is difficult to find out exactly where the launch pads are located. It is more helpful if you send us a Google-Earth KML file showing the exact location and links to your club's web site.

It is EASY to do. I've made a little QuickTime video that shows the process step by step. It only takes about two minutes if you already are using Google-Earth. Please review the video so you can send the launch site information to us in an easy-to-use format.

Download QuickTime video now that shows how to generate a KML-format file showing your club's launch location.

This videos require QuickTime v7 or later (they use the H.264 Codec). For the latest version of Quicktime click on the link below.

I SURE APPRECIATE the level of customer care that you have given me in processing my order and the FOLLOW UP email's!!  GOOD customer service ...I find is hard to come by in a lot of respects today.  There are many companies that SHOULD take lesson's from you on customer care!!

I WILL MOST DEFINETLY use your company again as soon as I need more supplies (which is generally often) so you will be hearing from me in the future!!
