"You were right. You mentioned somewhere that Apogee is driven to provide expert and dedicated service to it's customers. Additionally, the customer (that's me) would often find less than desirable contact with other so-called hobby shops. As a novice in rocketry, and living in a remote Ca. desert, I rely solely on information gained from your excellent web site.
Needing supplies to finish the (2) rockets I ordered from Apogee, I drove 80 miles to the nearest hobby shop. It wasn't so much the ham and cheese sandwich the owner was eating throughout our conversation or the dismal lack of rocketry product he had or what he did have was highly overpriced, but the fact that I soon realized I had a better understanding about rocketry than he did.
Sandwich boy knew nothing about epoxy clay, what type of masking tape is best for painting, gluing paper on fins for additional strength, and so on. When I asked about sanding sealer he said, "just mix talcum powder in clear dope, it'll be fine." It was time for me to go. Just thought you might like to hear my story.
