On this page, you'll find links to other sites that have information about software programs that are useful for model rocketry.

Rocket Simulation Programs (Information Links)

RockSim - Apogee Components' design and simulation software. Free demo version available for download. This software also comes with EngEdit, a program for creating ".eng" thrust curve motor files. Teachers: Click Here to find out the benefits of using RockSim in your classroom, and 30 topics that can be taught using this awesome tool.

http://www.42nd-dimension.com/Rocketry/postscript.html Contains a couple of programs for Windows. Transition Template -- TRANSITION.PS will draw  templates to create transition cones from one diameter to another.  Sizes can be specified in inches, millimeters, or even part numbers such as BT20. Mitered Tube / Fin Alignment Template -- WRAP.PS will draw templates designed to be temporarily wrapped around body tubes for marking purposes.  You can specify a number of fins and the wrap will contains evenly distributed marks similar to the Estes guides.

http://aero.stanford.edu/WingCalc.html This Java application computes the lift and Cl distribution over a wing with sweep and twist.

Article in three parts in this newsletter will give you the theory and application of how rocket simulation programs work. Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
