Body Tubes

To make an awesome looking rocket requires quality paper tubes. Otherwise, the parts won't fit together properly and you'll end up wasting a lot of time filling spirals to get a smooth surface finish. We only sell the best quality tubes, because we want to save you time, money and effort when you're building a rocketry masterpiece.

All Apogee's spiral-wound kraft paper tubes are white in color so that you can more easily mark the tube with a pencil; making it easier to locate and attach your fins to the rocket.

We only sell the most common sizes, so you can repair or reproduce models that were made by Estes. The only difference is that we use millimeters to distinguish the tube sizes. Whether you call them body tubes or airframe tubes, we've got what you are looking for.If you are not familiar with tubes being listed in "millimeters," here is a conversion chart that will help you compare our part names and prices with those from Estes:13mm dia. = BT-5 size tube. Can be used as motor mount tubes for "mini" size engines.

18mm dia. = BT-20 size tube. Can be used as motor mount tubes for A, B & C size engines.
24mm dia. = BT-50 size tube. Can be used as motor mount tubes for "D" size engines.
29mm dia. = Can be used as motor mount tubes for "F" and "G" size engines.
33mm dia. = BT-55 size tube
41.6mm dia. = BT-60 size tube
56mm dia. = BT-70 size tube
66mm dia. = BT-80 size tube

Balsa Bulkheads

Balsa Nose Blocks, also known as solid bulkheads or tube connectors are used to make payload bays for model rockets. They block off the air flowing through the tube, protecting the delicate payload from the heat of the ejection charge. All you need is a screw eye to attach the shock cord or parachute, and you're ready to go.

High Power Nose Cones

These are high power nose cones that fit both the LOC kraft-paper tubes, as well as the Blue Tubes. The tubes are made out of Polypropylene plastic or fiberglass, which makes them very durable so they'll take the abuse of any high power motor you care to put behind them.

Blue Tubes

While they cost a bit more than the paper tubes, Blue Tube is durable alternative to those phenolic and carbon-fiber tubes. Used by the military in tank ammunition, this material is abrasive resistant and will not crack. They are great for high power rockets where you need super durability.

Large Diameter Paper Airframe Tubes

These tubes from LOC Precision are perfect if you are just getting started in high power rocketry and are on a budget. Made from paper, they are easy to cut, sand, glue, and paint. They will allow you to experiment with your own designs and construction techniques without putting you in debt.

Fiberglass Body Tubes

Quite a bit stronger than paper or the Blue Tube. And it is also the easiest to finish and paint because it has such a hard and smooth surface.

Tube Couplers For Large Diameter Rockets

These regular Kraft-paper couplers fit the same tubes as the Blue Tube Couplers. So if we're out of a size of the Blue Coupler you need, this could be an alternative you may want to consider.
